How to trade in pokenon go? The ability to trade in Pokémon Go is one of the most useful skills you can acquire when playing this AR mobile game.
Trainers can trade Pokémon with one another, which in turn increases their friendship level, rolls their Pokémon’s independent value, and more. We will describe that in more detail below.
Pokemon Go is currently one of the best mobile games available for both Android and iOS devices. Since the game was first released five years ago, Nintendo fans and casual enthusiasts alike have been catching ’em all.
Trading in Pokemon Go is very different from trading in other core games in the franchise. To start with, you must fulfill the following Pokemon Go trading criteria:
- Be level 10 or above
- Make friends with the person you’re trading with in Pokemon Go
- Be within 100 meters of them in real life
Simply select the correct friend and tap Trade when you have met all three criteria. A Pokemon can be chosen to trade, while the other Pokemon will be sent back. But, like in life, things aren’t quite as simple as that. Our Pokemon Go trading guide contains everything you need to know about trading in Pokemon Go, including how to trade, the limitations on trading, and other Pokemon Go trading quirks.
Steps to make Pokemon Go friends
As soon as you have reached Trainer Level 10, you can become friends within Pokemon Go. Click the Friends tab in your trainer section in order to do this. To view your Trainer Code, tap the “Add Friend” button. This needs to be shared with anyone you want to be friends with in Pokemon Go, or you can grab the 12-digit Trainer Code number from any friends who play Pokemon Go and join them to your game.
If someone adds you to their Friends list, you will receive a notification in the Friends tab. You can then accept – or reject – the request to become Pokemon Go friends.
How to Level up Friendship in Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go friends aren’t just about becoming close to someone in the game. In the game, there are varying levels of friendship. In addition to trading and battling together in raids and gym battles, exchanging gifts can also increase your friendship level.
At PokeStops, you’re eligible to receive special gifts every time you visit. While you can’t do anything with them yourself, you can send them to anyone on your friend’s list. Items included in these gifts include potions, PokeBalls, and even a yellow and pink egg that will eventually hatch into an Alolan form Pokemon. Magic. Each friend can receive only one gift a day, but doing so increases your trainer level.
The four levels of friendship you can achieve with another player are:
Good Friend (after 1 day of friendship)
Great Friend (after 7 days of friendship)
Ultra Friend (after 30 days of friendship)
Best Friend (after 90 days of friendship)
To trade with someone, you only need to be Good Friends with them (provided you’re both Trainer Level 10 or higher), and you can get there by giving each other one gift.
To trade for Pokemon you haven’t yet caught, you’ll need to upgrade your friendship level to at least Great Friends.
You can get tons of benefits when you become a friend of another player. You can gain attack bonuses and Raid bonuses when you are Great Friends or above when you battle together in Gyms and Raids. Those perks rise with your friendship level as well, so start gifting.
Know the Process of Pokemon Go Trading?
You can trade Pokemon with someone once you’ve been friends for a day and exchange at least one gift. Every trade you do will cost you Stardust, but the exact cost depends on several factors – more on that later.
Make sure you are physically close to one another (within 100 meters) once you decide what you want to trade and who you want to trade with. You can then choose the player you wish to trade with from the Friends tab in Pokemon Go. In the right-hand corner, click on the trade button, and get your friend to do the same. Pull up the Pokemon you want to trade, and you’ll see the trade cost in Stardust, as well as the CP range the Pokemon will reach when traded. At the end of the trade, CP levels of Pokemon should fall somewhere within this range. A range is determined by your Trainer Level, the level of the receiving trainer, and your friendship level.
Also, every trade comes with candies, which is a nice bonus. You will receive a certain number of candies depending on where the Pokemon was caught. You will receive more candies the further away you are from its source. On Reddit, you get one candy if you travel less than 30km, two candies between 30 – 100km, and three candies if you travel more than 100km.
Despite this, not all Pokemon are treated the same way in Pokemon Go trading, since there are two different types of trades you can do with a friend: Standard Pokemon Go trades, and Special Pokemon Go trades.
A standard trade would include regional Pokemon and different forms of those already in your Pokedex (such as Alolan and Castform variants), as well as any non-legendary or non-shiny Pokemon.
Legendary Pokemon such as Articuno and Zapdos must be traded in Special Trades, as well as Shiny Pokemon. Pokemon Go does not allow you to trade mythical Pokemon like Mewtwo or Mew. Unfortunately, they have to be earned.
How much Stardust does Pokemon Go trading cost?
It is quite complex to figure out how much Pokemon Go trading costs. Your price for each trade depends on several factors, including whether you’ve already caught the Pokemon yourself, your friendship level with the person you’re trading with, and the type of Pokemon you’re trading – Standard or Special.
