Arkham Asylum doesn’t disappoint when it comes to gameplay. Along with having a wide variety of gadgets and weapons at the player’s disposal, the game flawlessly combines easy, quick, and impressive combat with stealth sequences that are well executed.
Batman: Arkham City – 2011
After the massive success of Batman games Arkham in Order, it is further followed by Arkham city. It was released in 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360, and windows. After a year, it was upgraded for Wii U & MacOS in 2012 and further moved to another year; it was upgraded for PS4 & Xbox One in 2016.
It takes place a decade after the events of Arkham Asylum, where the villains of Arkham Asylum have turned a section of Gotham city into Arkham city under the guidance of Dr Hugo Strange. In this 2nd entry, you can see a playable character at the beginning of Catwoman in a few parts of the story.
Batman has some fabulous new gadgets to show off in his own right. Gameplay and mechanics remain the same, and there are no other significant changes. Furthermore, you will notice the detailing is not the best, mainly because Arkham City is larger than the asylum and has more areas that need attention.
Batman Games in Order: Arkham Origins – 2013
This game series is the third entry in the Arkham franchise. However, as you may have guessed from the title, it is not a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum. In addition, the third game in this series was developed and released by WB Montreal for the PS 3, Xbox 360, and Windows platforms in 2013. Unfortunately, Arkham Origins was not upgraded to Mac OS for the platform.
At the beginning of the game, Bruce Wayne is shown as a young and brash Bruce Wayne in his nighttime duties. The game’s main antagonist – Black Mask – is put off by Batman’s constant interventions, so he places a bounty of $50 million on his head. As a result, several professional assassins are on the trail of Batman.
This game combines combat and stealth manoeuvres with puzzles, gadgets, and trophies along the way. It is worth rating that the game’s theme has more feel and is entertaining than the old one. Therefore, this unbeatable feel creates more engagement. On the other hand, this gameplay does not move too far from the original versions.
Batman: Arkham Origins (Android Mobile) – 2013
The Batman: Arkham origins game is also developed in mobile format as an extension by Netherrealm Studios. This game was on iOS on October 16, 2013, the same year as the main series game. Later on July 25, 2014 -it was released worldwide for Android devices.

This Arkham series is the latest in the sequel without any controversy. It was released in 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One & Windows. The story begins on the streets of Arkham and moves into Gotham’s streets.
Arkham Night has two main villains: The Scarecrow and the titular Arkham Night. The former also reflects Batman’s darker side.
Adding the Batmobile to the game was the main highlight in gameplay. As a result of Scarecrow’s fear gas, a section of Gotham City was evacuated during the height of crime. This new release takes place within these evacuated regions. The rest of the gameplay was pretty much the same, though it was refined slightly.
Batman: Arkham VR – 2016
Batman: Arkham VR is a thriller and adventurous game released in 2016 for PlayStation VR. The main character Batman is in even more trouble after the events of Batman: Arkham City. After discovering that both Robin and Nightwing have disappeared, it is up to him to find out what has happened.
There are several villains in Batman: Arkham VR, including the Penguin and Killer Croc, as there have been in previous Batman Arkham games.
According to the title, this is the only Batman Arkham VR game. You can play with three of Batman’s gadgets in this game: a scanner, the bat-claw, and the iconic Batarang.
This game is less comprehensive than past Batman Arkham games which were in Order because it compensates with a great story and new gameplay.
Batman: Arkham Underworld (Mobile) – 2016
This Arkham underwater game was released for Android & iOS. However, the game was removed from both platforms in 2017. The game’s main goal was to become Gotham’s most wanted criminal.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – 2022
The next Batman game in the series is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. However, Rocksteady Studios is currently working on this game, and it is planned to release in 2022.
A superhero-themed action-adventure game is scheduled for release in 2022 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Windows platforms. On the other hand, the game revolves around Suicide Squad’s attempts to defeat Brainiac as he conquers Earth and brainwashes the Justice League. This Batman-inspired sequel has outdone itself in light of the short shelf life of superhero-inspired games. In addition, it is admirable that the game was available on several platforms for a long time, making it more accessible for players. There will hopefully be a follow-up post with a better theme and enhanced graphics and details
